Our mission
For over 20 years, GBR has been dedicated to training handlers and dogs to search for missing people. Our mission is to train and certify these teams and deploy operational teams in real searches, supporting families and public safety institutions.
02
Mantrailing
We use mantrailing, a search technique in which a dog, accompanied by its handler, seeks to follow the scent of a specific, living person. An object that has been in contact with that person can serve as a scent reference. Training a dog–handler team takes years of continuous practice so that the pair can become operationally ready and contribute effectively to real searches.

History
GBR’s journey began in 2004, when Ana Albernaz attended a search-dog seminar in Virginia, in the United States. That experience inspired an initiative that grew into GBR, a nonprofit organization dedicated to searching for missing people. Since then, the group has promoted mantrailing and search-dog team training, sharing knowledge among public safety professionals and civilian volunteers united by a commitment to helping people and their families.
